This story is very tragic, and also raises a significant concern about the use of PVC pipe for homemade bongs (chloride and vinyl are very toxic), as well gator-ade bottles, and pipes made out of the bottom half of retractable pens. Something I and many of the PSST parents have discovered that our "resourceful" children have been constructing/fabricating.
We have experienced first hand the behavior issues caused by synthetic marijuana. We are fortunate that there were not physical side effects at this time.
Since these concoctions are being developed by unscrupulous and deceitful persons and are being pushed as "incense" - no one can be sure what ingredients are being used in its manufacture.
The individuals that manufacture and distribute this are beyond contempt.
While I truly thank all involved in making these substances "illegal"; do not let this lull you into a sense of false comfort that synthetic marijuana is not readily available to your teenage children.
As Cheryl and Jim point out if you know that or have any suspicion that your teenager is using K2, Spice, other drug, alcohol or any mind altering substance please attend one of our PSST Meetings.
There is no cost and no commitment. We are here to help you not to judge you.
