Verse Which Describes This PSST Mom's Behavior by Violet
Below is a quote from a song by the Police...
...I thought it demonstrates my behavior through my son’s addiction.
[ and being from the Police...how appropriate ]
Every single day... Every word you say... Every game you play... Every night you stay… I’LL BE WATCHING YOU!!
And some of the other stanzas are just as appropriate! Like this one . . .
Every move you make Every vow you break Every smile you fake Every claim you stake I'll be watching you
And from what you've been saying all along at PSST meetings, you have done exactly those things . . . with encouraging results! You should feel very good about what you have accomplished - it's nothing less than a miracle.
Music, poems, quotes....are excellent ways to express how we feel while we are parenting addictive sons and daughters.
ReplyDeleteGood quote, Violet.
I can also truly relate to Rocco's quotes above.
And some of the other stanzas are just as appropriate! Like this one . . .
ReplyDeleteEvery move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
And from what you've been saying all along at PSST meetings, you have done exactly those things . . . with encouraging results! You should feel very good about what you have accomplished - it's nothing less than a miracle.

These words are so true! I live them every day and wonder if I ever will not have to be watching every day.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sally that lyrics, poems and quotes often describe perfectly how we feel in parenting our kids.
